About
The festival was created in Cape Town, South Africa, by Marius Fransman, Former Deputy Minister and a group of international film professionals including Lily Yang, Chinese born financier, Chico Brown and Michelle Stokes American film producers, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, an actor in 124 films, South African actress Jolene Martin, journalist and director Johann Abrahams as well as marketing expert Steven Taylor.
The festival’s mission is to give a voice to communities that are generally overlooked, such as First Nations, minority groups, indigenous populations and resisters of lost causes often ignored by traditional media and institutions. These films will screen alongside those of already recognized directors and exhibit humanitarian themes that want to contribute to a better world, whether political, economic, cultural, or social, aiming to promote a unique and inclusive world.
It's not just another festival, it's a place of exchange, of transmission, of mutual aid, of solidarity which encourages encounters between professionals from different countries and the public of each city that they pass through after the Cape Town edition.
